Kyocera FS-4000DN and Linux

This page describes briefly how to print and controll a [http://www.kyoceramita.eu/index/products/product/fs4000dn.html Kyocera FS-4000DN] under a Linux OS.

driver

The Linux [https://www.linux-foundation.org/en/OpenPrinting printing system] doesn't include a driver for this printer. But fortunately Kyocera provides it's own PPD-Files. You can download the latest version [http://www.kyoceramita.eu/index/service/dlc.false.driver.FS4000DN._.EN.html at this page]. Setting up this printer is very easy with the cups web interface usualy at http://localhost:631.

memory upgrade

Usually memory upgrades are very expensive because the printer only deals with proprietary moduls (e.g. 100 pin memory for this one). [http://www.memoryxxl.net/index.php/language/en This site] offers very cheap memory for every known printer.
