Kyocera FS-4000DN and Linux

This page describes briefly how to print and controll a Kyocera FS-4000DN under a Linux OS.

driver

The Linux printing system doesn't include a driver for this printer. But fortunately Kyocera provides it's own PPD-Files. You can download the latest version at this page. Setting up this printer is very easy with the cups web interface usualy at http://localhost:631.

memory upgrade

Usually memory upgrades are very expensive because the printer only deals with proprietary moduls (e.g. 100 pin memory for this one). This site offers very cheap memory for every known printer.
